Regarding the latter, multiple business categories are currently being disrupted by the rapid and significant changes ushered in by AI. The world of investing is no exception, and BridgeWise is focussed on leveraging AI in finance to help institutions support their investors and help them discover opportunities.

AI is a rapidly developing technology, and that development is being driven by a diverse set of underlying technologies ranging from language models, to AI specific silicon, to cloud technologies.

As part of our AInvest series, an exploration of the critical concepts that are enabling AI investment technology, we explored the specific ways cloud technology is enabling AI more broadly and the specific ways it applies to AI in finance. We spoke with Yaniv Gueta, Principal Solutions Architect for AWS’s Financial Services sector, and our own Elad Nachmias, CTO of BridgeWise, to understand how the cloud is impacting the AI investment landscape.

The Challenge of Privacy, Cost, and Scalability in AI for Investments

First, it’s important to acknowledge the rapid pace of change in the financial industry, particularly as AI continues to disrupt traditional investment strategies. “When we started BridgeWise in 2019, privacy was the big concern,” Nachmias explained. “When using large language models (LLM), you’re sharing sensitive customer data with third parties, and that’s where AWS’s Druk platform came in to solve these privacy issues.”

Another hurdle that AI providers face is cost and speed. “The challenge now is how to scale AI systems effectively and maintain consistent performance,” said Gueta. “We are looking at how to manage massive amounts of data and make sure that AI systems continue to work well as they scale.”

Moving Toward Reliability and Consistency

Looking forward, Gueta emphasized that the next big challenge for AI in investment will be reliability. “Our challenge will be to ensure AI systems remain trustworthy over time, especially as market conditions fluctuate,’ he mentioned. ‘For clients to rely on AI recommendations, consistency will be key.”

It will also be critical to bring transparency to AI-driven decision-making. “AI models aren’t deterministic,” he said. “That’s why we build layers of understanding and provide clients with clear, actionable insights. We ensure that the decisions made by the system can be explained in a way that resonates with financial professionals,” Nachmias added.

AI in Global Markets and the Future of Investment Intelligence

As AI continues to gain traction in global markets, the technological and regulatory differences between regions becomes an important question. “In some areas, like Asia, the regulations are relatively flexible, while in Europe, they tend to be stricter. How does AWS address these challenges?” Gueta explained. He added that AWS’s geographic presence allows for localized solutions, ensuring compliance with diverse regulatory frameworks.

The conversation also touched on the potential for AI agents to revolutionize financial markets. “AI agents are the real game-changer,” said Gueta. “They will automate complex processes and completely disrupt traditional workflows. Imagine breaking down a loan underwriting process into smaller, automated tasks that are each assessed with precision. This will completely change how investment decisions are made.”

Generative AI and the Future of Financial Investments

Another important question is the role of Generative AI in investment intelligence. This technology is already playing a significant role in how BridgeWise uses AI to deliver actionable insights to investors.

“We’ve seen the rise of generative AI as a transformative force in financial markets,” Nachmias explained. “At BridgeWise, we’ve adopted conversational AI in the form of Bridget, our AI-powered chat assistant, which provides succinct, investment-focused insights in real time.”

Generative AI allows for a more personalized investment experience, delivering tailored recommendations based on real-time market data and individual investor preferences. “With generative AI, investors don’t just get data—they get insights that are meaningful, clear, and actionable,” he said.

It’s also important to note that the ability to deliver actionable intelligence quickly is the key differentiator for successful AI-driven platforms in the financial industry. “The market is moving fast, and investors need tools that can give them instant answers with a high degree of confidence,” Gueta pointed out.

What’s Next for AI in Finance?

Looking to the future, there are many challenges for AI, especially in the context of trust and accountability. “AI is clearly the future of investment intelligence, but how do we ensure that these systems are both trustworthy and accountable?” Nachmias asked.

Gueta acknowledged the importance of trustworthy AI in financial services. “AI will continue to evolve, but it’s crucial that we don’t lose sight of transparency and reliability,” he said. “As the technology matures, we’ll need to focus on ensuring that the decisions made by AI can be explained and that clients can trust those decisions.”

Trust and explainability are central themes facing the industry, with both experts agreeing that maintaining high levels of transparency will be essential as AI becomes more embedded in financial services.

Wrapping Up: The Road Ahead for AI in Finance

AI in finance has immense potential to revolutionize the financial sector.
